New party trick? Maybe. Either way, this exercise will help mobilize your pelvis and dynamically work the torso. The muscles that support your spine need to be able to move dynamically, otherwise our spine can’t move dynamically either. And in that case, you’re probably walking around like Frankenstein. That doesn’t seem very healthy!

Be patient with this exercise and be sure to move slowly enough so you’re not solely using your momentum to swing you forward and back. Begin to notice what you feel working, what you feel moving, what areas are not moving as fluidly. Is one direction more difficult than the other? See how you feel after including this on a daily basis. Does it feel different after a week?
