Resistance stretching is an effective (and fantastic) way to warm up your body, while maintaining a safe range of motion. The last thing we want to do when warming up is push ourselves into a stretch that our body is not ready for. In this gluteus (awesomeness) exercise, we are actively lengthening various muscles (eccentric contraction) and shortening them (concentric contraction).
Because our body is so interwoven, you may find that doing an exercise like this can alleviate discomfort in the lower back and hip area, as well. And that’s just the tip of the body-berg.

How many? Try 5-10 on each side.
When? When you wake up before you get out of bed, before a workout, or just for the heck of it.
